He held a B.A. in Economics from George Washington University and served in the United States Air Force before working as a Case Officer for the CIA and later as Director of two Federal Computer Centers.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eStratton lived abroad for eleven years in England, Germany, Greece, and Mexico, experience that informed his work as a historian and genealogist.
