About the author
BARBARA WICKLUND is a Basset Hound breed expert and the author of Basset Hound: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.
Wicklund and her husband, Al, have bred and shown champion and obedience-titled Bassets since purchasing their first Basset in 1963.
When she’s not writing, Wicklund devotes her time to rescuing and placing Basset Hounds and ex-racing Greyhounds. This hands-on work with dogs informs the practical, expert perspective she brings to the breed.
