About the author

C.C. NEAL, whose full name is Cindy Neal, is a native of North Carolina and the author of Gentlemen from Hell: Men of the 487th Bomb Group: Leaders of the Largest Eighth Air Force Mission of World War II, her first book.

Neal holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the daughter of 487th Bomb Group veteran Tommy Craig.

When she’s not writing, Neal attends Eighth Air Force and 487th Bomb Group reunions, a practice she began following her father’s death in 1998. The personal accounts she gathered at those reunions inspired Gentlemen from Hell.

Cindy lives in Concord, North Carolina with her husband and has two children and a granddaughter.
