About the author

CHRIS DE LUCA is a sports journalist, editor, and co-author of Classic Cubs: A Tribute to the Men and Magic of Wrigley Field.

De Luca joined the Chicago Sun-Times as a copy editor in 1996, served as its national baseball writer from 2004, and rose to Deputy Managing Editor, News and Sports. He also worked as a Major League Baseball analyst for ESPN’s First Take and SportsCenter.

When he’s not writing, De Luca has held senior editorial roles including executive sports editor for Contra Costa Newspapers in California and sports editor of the Monterey County Herald. His career spans newsrooms including The Sacramento Bee, the San Diego Union, and the Los Angeles Times.

Chris lives in Chicago.
