EDWARD PATTERSON has bred Pugs under the Ivanwood kennel name since 1960 and holds a Ph.D. He is the author of The Pug: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.
Patterson’s book draws on his standing as a breed expert and features contributions from animal behaviorist Dr. Ian Dunbar and Dog Fancy columnist Bardi McLennan.
When not writing, Patterson breeds and exhibits Pugs alongside his wife, Charlotte. That hands-on experience as a longtime dog fancier underpins the practical perspective running throughout his work.
