Ginger Cardinal

GINGER CARDINAL is the author of The Rat: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet, part of a series on caring for small animals.

Cardinal served as a charter board member, certified judge, and former president of the American Rat, Mouse & Hamster Society, and wrote and edited the society’s newsletter.

When she’s not writing, Cardinal has spent over ten years raising, exhibiting, and judging rats, mice, and hamsters, a passion that stretches back to childhood. That hands-on experience informs her practical approach to pet care.
