H.C. Lodge

HENRY CABOT LODGE held a Ph.D. in history from Harvard University and served as a U.S. Senator from Massachusetts from 1893 until his death in 1924. His books include Hero Tales from American History, Alexander Hamilton, Daniel Webster and George Washington.

Lodge was the first de facto Senate Majority Leader and chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Before entering politics, he served as an instructor in American history at Harvard.

Lodge led the successful opposition to Woodrow Wilson’s Treaty of Versailles, ensuring the United States never joined the League of Nations. Much of his historical writing focused on the founding and shaping of the American republic.

H.C. Lodge’s books are published by Cumberland House Publishing, an imprint of Turner Publishing.
