Howard C. Samuels

HOWARD C. SAMUELS holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, is a licensed therapist with more than thirty years of sobriety from heroin and cocaine addiction, and is the author of Alive Again: Recovering from Alcoholism and Drug Addiction.

Samuels is the founder of The Hills Treatment Center, a substance abuse treatment facility in Los Angeles, and specializes in the treatment of mood and addictive disorders, love addiction, and substance abuse intervention. He is a columnist for The Huffington Post and has appeared regularly on ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today Show.

When not writing, Samuels draws on his clinical work and personal history to address addiction and recovery. Much of his work explores the path from active addiction to sustained sobriety.

Howard lives in Los Angeles.
