Seeking the Path to Life: Theological Meditations on God and the Nature of People, Love, Life and Death
For people who never thought they would read a book of theology—let alone understand it, enjoy it, savor it and have it affect the way they think about their lives.
In forty-five intense meditations, each a page or two in length, Stone takes us on explorations of the most basic human struggles: life and death, love and anger, peace and war, covenant and exile.

About the author
IRA STONE is a Conservative rabbi ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 1979 and the author of A Responsible Life: The Spiritual Path of Mussar, Reading Levinas/Reading Talmud and Seeking the Path to Life.
Stone holds a BA in Religious Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara and served as rabbi of Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel in Philadelphia from 1988 to 2015, becoming Rabbi Emeritus upon his retirement. He has taught philosophy at the Jewish Theological Seminary and modern Jewish thought at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
When not writing, Stone serves as founding director of the Center for Contemporary Mussar, established in 2017, where he leads the contemporary renewal of the Musar movement. His books reflect that sustained engagement with Musar as a living spiritual practice.
