About the author
IVO DE JONG is a Dutch military historian with more than twenty years of research into the United States Eighth Air Force and the author of three books, most recently The History of the 487th Bomb Group (H). His earlier works include Mission 376, Battle Over the Reich: 28 May 1944 and Mission 85: A Milk Run That Turned Sour.
De Jong holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Netherlands Army and commands a battalion.
When not writing, De Jong draws on his active military career to inform his research. His books focus on the 185 combat missions flown by the 487th Bomb Group over Europe during World War II.
