About the author
J.D. ROTHMAN is the pen name of Judy Rothman Rofé, an Emmy-winning children’s television writer, producer, and lyricist who has written and developed dozens of series and specials, including Arthur, Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps, Rainbow Fish, and Jim Henson’s Pajanimals. She also created the Netflix series Julie’s Greenroom, starring Julie Andrews.
Rothman’s NeuroticParent.com blog was excerpted in I'm Going to College, Not You and later became the Los Angeles Times bestseller The Neurotic Parent’s Guide to College Admissions. She is also a former instructor of remedial freshman composition.
When she’s not writing, Rothman grew up in Brooklyn, resided in several Latin American countries, and draws on wide-ranging experience of place and culture across her work.
Judy lives in Santa Monica with her husband, a bassist in the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
