Jack Sauter

JACK SAUTER is a former Navy aviation electronics technician who flew early warning and anti-submarine missions from the backseat of a Douglas Skyraider during the Korean War. His books include All the Points of the Compass: A Travel Odyssey, This Is Where I Came In and Tailfins Across Europe.

Sauter served as president and editor of the USS Lake Champlain Association Inc. and is the author of USS Lake Champlain: CV/CVA/CVS-39, a history of the ship and those who served on her. He co-authored Sailors in the Sky: Memoir of a Navy Aircrewman in the Korean War with Edward Peary Stafford.
