Jef Klein

JEF KLEIN is an editor and freelance writer with more than thirty years of experience, and the author of The History and Stories of the Best Bars of New York.

Klein’s book won the USA Book News 2006 History: Media/Entertainment award. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Condé Nast Traveler, and Southern Accents.

When she’s not writing, Klein draws on fourteen years working in the restaurant industry as a bartender, waitress, and union vice-president. That firsthand experience in bars and restaurants across New York City and New Jersey shapes her work directly.

Jef lives in New Jersey.
