About the author
JOACHIM VOLHARD, also known as Jack Volhard, is a dog trainer and author whose books have been translated into four languages. His recent books include Dog Training For Dummies, The Canine Good Citizen: Every Dog Can Be One and Training Your Dog: The Step-by-Step Manual.
Volhard has received six awards from the Dog Writers Association of America, including Best Care and Training Book for 1983 for Training Your Dog and Best Film on Dogs in 1981 for his film Puppy Aptitude Testing. He is a member of the Hall of Fame of the International Association of Canine Professionals and served as an American Kennel Club Obedience Trial Judge for thirty-three years.
When not writing, Volhard has taught obedience classes and seminars for over forty years and given clinics across America, Canada, and England.
