Joy Smith

JOY SMITH is the author of six books, including The Empty Nest Cookbook, Oh, No, They're Engaged! and Kitchen Afloat: Galley Management and Meal Preparation.

Smith holds a B.S. in Home Economics–Education from the University of Connecticut, with coursework in family relationships.

When she’s not writing, Smith enjoys sailing, developing recipes, crocheting prayer shawls, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren inspired her to write children’s books featuring small animals and sea creatures.

Joy lives in Connecticut with her husband.
