Julia M. Crawford

JULIA M. CRAWFORD is a dog breeder and writer who has contributed to the AKC Gazette for twenty years and has been breeding dogs since 1968. She is the author of Bernese Mountain Dog: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.

Crawford is recognized by her publisher as a breed expert. The book covers care, training, feeding, grooming, and health, with contributions from animal behaviorist Dr. Ian Dunbar and Dog Fancy columnist Bardi McLennan.

When she’s not writing, Crawford breeds dogs, a practice she has maintained since 1968. Her work reflects a hands-on expertise in canine care that runs throughout her writing.

Julia lives in Delmar, Maryland.
