JULIE CAIRNS is a Golden Retriever breed expert and obedience instructor with more than 15 years of teaching experience and over 25 years of active involvement with the breed. Her books include The Golden Retriever: All That Glitters, The Essential Golden Retriever and The Golden Retriever: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.

The Golden Retriever: All That Glitters is recommended reading by the Golden Retriever Club of America, of which Cairns is a member.

When she’s not writing, Cairns competes with her dogs in conformation, obedience, hunting tests and field trials. That hands-on experience across multiple disciplines informs her practical, breed-focused writing.
