JULIE RACH MANCINI is an avian enthusiast and the author of numerous books about pet birds, including The Cockatiel, The Budgie, The Conure, The African Grey, Why Does My Bird Do That: A Guide to Parrot Behavior, and First Aid for Birds: An Owner’s Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.

Mancini served as an editor of Bird Talk magazine and assisted in the preparation of the first issue of Birds USA. First Aid for Birds was co-authored with veterinarian Gary A. Gallerstein, DVM.

Julie lives in California.
