Karen L. Davis

KAREN LEIGH DAVIS is a professional writer specializing in companion animals, particularly cats and horses, and the author of Deciphering Dressage, The Everything Horse Book and The Everything Cat Book.

Davis is a professional member of the Cat Writers' Association, and her work has appeared in CATS Magazine and Cat Fancy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and formerly authored the semimonthly column The Pet Podium for the Roanoke Times & World-News.

When she’s not writing, Davis is a competitive equestrian who has ridden in saddleseat and hunt seat equitation and classical dressage, and has been a member of the Virginia Dressage Association and the United States Dressage Federation. This deep involvement with horses and riders informs her equestrian writing directly.

Karen lives in Roanoke, Virginia.
