About the author
KYLE FROMAN is a dance and theater photographer and author based in New York City, and the author of In the Wings: Behind the Scenes at the New York City Ballet.
Froman trained at the School of American Ballet as the first recipient of the Rudolph Nureyev Scholarship in 1994, and danced as a corps de ballet member of the New York City Ballet from 1996 to 2009. He has been profiled by Vanity Fair and Elle, and his work has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Playbill.
When he’s not writing, Froman works as a photographer, with solo exhibitions held at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and New York’s 92nd Street Y. His book grew directly from photographing the inner workings of the New York City Ballet during his years as a dancer.
Kyle lives in New York City.
