Lillian Johnson Gardiner

LILLIAN JOHNSON GARDINER was a Memphis, Tennessee, genealogist who founded and edited Ansearchin' News, the journal of the Tennessee Genealogical Society. She co-compiled The Daveiss-Hess Family: From Powhatan to the Present.

Gardiner served as National President of the Huguenot Society, Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia, and held membership in numerous hereditary and patriotic organizations. She was a charter member of the Tennessee Genealogical Society.

When not writing, Gardiner and her husband Lawrence Bridges Gardiner compiled books of family history together and were sought as speakers on genealogical research. That firsthand expertise in tracing family lines shaped her co-compilation work.

Lillian Johnson Gardiner’s books are published by Turner Publishing.
