MANUEL F. VAN EYCK is an American writer of Czech origin who served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and has dedicated decades to researching missing American servicemen and the history of Czechoslovak airmen in Britain. His books include Pěšákem ve Vietnamu, Silent Heroes and Zemřeli jsme pro Anglii.
Van Eyck was born Manuel František Vaněček in 1947 in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia, emigrated in June 1968, and was among the very few Czech emigrants to serve on the American side in Vietnam, where he adopted the pen name Van Eyck.
When not writing, Van Eyck continues his research into American pilots and crews who went down over occupied Czechoslovakia in 1944. That work forms the basis of Silent Heroes.
Manuel F. Van Eyck’s books are published by Turner Publishing.
