Marion Lane

MARION S. LANE is a writer and editor specializing in dogs, with four books and dozens of articles on the subject to her name. Her books include the first and second editions of the Yorkshire Terrier volume in the Your Happy Healthy Pet series.

Lane spent eleven years at the American Kennel Club in New York City, serving as editor of the AKC Gazette, and later as editor of Animal Watch, the official publication of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, until it ceased publication in October 2004.

When she’s not writing, Lane has worked as a professional groomer, having trained her own Yorkie in obedience and studied at the International School of Dog Grooming. That hands-on experience with dogs informs her writing directly.

Marion Lane’s books are published by Howell Book House, an imprint of Turner Publishing.
