About the author
MARLA JO FISHER is a journalist and humor columnist whose work runs in eleven newspapers across the Southern California News Group, including the Orange County Register. She is the author of Frumpy Middle-Aged Mom: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Motherhood.
Fisher is a former award-winning investigative reporter whose columns and travel articles have appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Miami Herald, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, among other publications nationwide.
When she’s not writing, Fisher advocates for children in foster care, having adopted two children from the system at age 46. That experience forms the heart of her Frumpy Middle-Aged Mom column, published weekly.
Marla lives in Southern California.
