MICHAEL BROWN is a reference librarian, educator, and the author of two books: New Jersey Parks, Forests, and Natural Areas: A Guide and The Jewish Gardening Cookbook: Growing Plants & Cooking for Holidays & Festivals.
Brown worked as a middle school librarian and spent ten years living and gardening in Israel, where he developed a connection between the land and Jewish tradition.
When not writing, Brown owns and manages Pitspone Farm in central New Jersey, a suburban farm specializing in small fruits and berries. That hands-on experience with growing and harvesting directly informs his work on gardening within Jewish tradition.
Michael lives in New Jersey.
Michael Brown’s books are published by Jewish Lights, an imprint of Turner Publishing.
