Nate Fakes

NATE FAKES is a Los Angeles-based cartoonist, illustrator, storyboard artist, and creator of Break of Day, a syndicated daily panel cartoon that runs in over 80 newspapers worldwide. He is the author of A Fade of Light, his debut graphic memoir.

A Fade of Light received an Editor’s Picks Honorable Mention at Publishers Weekly’s US Book Show. Fakes has written and drawn for MAD Magazine for over a decade, with work also appearing in The New York Times and Scholastic publications. He is a member of the National Cartoonists Society.

When he’s not writing, Fakes works with clients including Red Bull and major greeting card companies on illustration and storyboard projects. Much of his work draws on the cartooning sensibility he has developed across print, advertising, and editorial illustration.

Nate lives near Los Angeles, California.
