Nonie Darwish

NONIE DARWISH is an Egyptian-American author, human rights activist, and public speaker, and the founder of Arabs for Israel and director of Former Muslims United. Her books include The Devil We Don't Know, Cruel and Usual Punishment and Now They Call Me Infidel.

Darwish holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology/anthropology from the American University in Cairo and previously worked as an editor and translator for the Middle East News Agency.

When she’s not writing, Darwish speaks publicly on human rights and the critique of radical Islam, causes rooted in her upbringing in Gaza and Cairo as the daughter of an Egyptian military officer assassinated in 1956. Much of her work examines the intersection of Islamic law and individual freedom.

Nonie Darwish’s books are published by Trade Paper Press, an imprint of Turner Publishing.
