About the author
PAUL R. PETERSEN is a retired U.S. Marine Corps master sergeant and lifelong resident of Jackson County, Missouri, the same area where William C. Quantrill’s partisan rangers operated. His recent books include Quantrill at Lawrence, Quantrill in Texas: The Forgotten Campaign, and Quantrill of Missouri: The Making of a Guerrilla Warrior.
Petersen is a recipient of the Perry Award for Best Book and the Milton F. Perry Best Non-Fiction Award.
When not writing, Petersen is a member of the William Clarke Quantrill Society, the James-Younger Gang Association, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Jackson County and Missouri State Historical Societies.
