Finding Spiritual Strength in Pain or Illness (12 pk)
LifeLights™—help for wholeness & healing—is a high-quality, uniquely Jewish pastoral care resource.
LifeLights™ are inspirational, informational booklets about challenges to our emotional and spiritual lives and how to deal with them. Each of the LifeLight topics is written by a wise and caring soul—someone you probably know or know about—who knows the inner territory of grief, doubt, confusion, and longing.
Each LifeLight contains uniquely Jewish comfort, advice, and additional resources for help. In addition to providing wise words to light a difficult path, every booklet offers suggestions for further reading, and many list organizations—Jewish and secular—that can provide further help along with information on how to contact them.
Over 1,000 congregations, organizations, care facilities, and funeral homes bring LifeLights™ to people in need. We have received touching, powerful feedback both from those who have made LifeLights available, and from people who have used them. LifeLights are having a dramatic effect on people facing difficult times—providing comfort and even saving lives.

About the author
RABBI SIMKHA Y. WEINTRAUB, LCSW, is a Conservative rabbi and licensed clinical social worker who served for more than 25 years as Rabbinic Director of the New York Jewish Healing Center and the National Center for Jewish Healing. His books include Guide Me Along the Way: A Jewish Spiritual Companion for Surgery, Finding Spiritual Strength in Pain or Illness, and Healing of Soul, Healing of Body: Spiritual Leaders Unfold the Strength and Solace in Psalms.
Weintraub served for nearly 15 years as an Adjunct Lecturer in Pastoral Skills at the Jewish Theological Seminary, teaching courses in loss and bereavement, Jewish spiritual counseling, and behavioral health.
When not writing, Weintraub has drawn on his dual training as rabbi and clinical social worker to write and teach about Jewish spiritual resources in confronting illness, loss, and trauma. Much of his work explores the intersection of Jewish tradition and healing.
