Russ Rodgers

RUSS RODGERS is a military historian and former adjunct professor of history at the American Military University, author of several books including Nierstein and Oppenheim 1945: Patton Bounces the Rhine, Fundamentals of Islamic Asymmetric Warfare, and The Generalship of Muhammad: Battles and Campaigns of the Prophet of Allah.

Rodgers earned his master’s degree in Land Warfare from the American Military University and has served as a command historian with the U.S. Army. A veteran with service in armor, infantry, and military intelligence, he is considered a subject matter expert on insurgency movements and early Islamic warfare. He has written or edited over a dozen major historical reports for the U.S. Army.

When not writing, Rodgers lectures to military and professional audiences, including at the Worldwide Anti-Terrorism Conference, the NATO School in Germany, and to military personnel in the United States, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. That work informs his focus on the history and practice of asymmetric and Islamic warfare.
