About the author
SUSAN SWIRE WINKLER is the author of five books, including the historical novel Portrait of a Woman in White and four editions of The Paris Shopping Companion: A Personal Guide to Shopping in Paris for Every Pocketbook.
Winkler studied French literature at Bennington College (BA), Stanford University (MA), L'Académie in Paris, and the University of Geneva. She worked as a print journalist for Fairchild Publications in New York and for the Oregonian.
When she’s not writing, Winkler maintains a lifelong interest in art. Much of her work reflects this passion, alongside her deep engagement with French culture and history.
Susan lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family.
