Thom Loverro

THOM LOVERRO is an American sportswriter and author of 11 books on sports subjects. His feature work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, the New York Times, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Loverro was voted Maryland Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sports Media Association in 2009 and received the Nat Fleischer Award for lifetime achievement in boxing journalism in 2019.

When not writing, Loverro teaches in Georgetown University’s Sports Management graduate program, a role that keeps him closely connected to the world of competitive athletics and sports media he has covered since 1977.
