About the author
THOMAS GORE, DVM, is a veterinarian with over thirty years of practice and co-author of Horse Owner’s Veterinary Handbook, a perennial bestseller first published in 1989 and revised across multiple editions covering infectious diseases, parasites, breeding, foaling, and alternative therapies.
Gore holds a degree from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine and was based in Ault, Colorado.
When not writing, Gore draws on a lifelong connection to horses rooted in growing up on a cattle ranch in the mountains of western Colorado. That hands-on background shapes the practical, field-tested guidance found throughout Horse Owner’s Veterinary Handbook.
