Valerie Rice

VALERIE RICE is a master gardener, home cook, and entertainer, and the author of Lush Life: Food & Drinks from the Garden.

Rice’s debut cookbook won a 2023 Next Generation Indie Book Award for Best Nonfiction Design and was a finalist for Best Cookbook. She holds a BA in Film and Media Studies from UC Santa Barbara, where she competed on the Division I diving team.

When she’s not writing, Rice runs the food and lifestyle site eatdrinkgarden.com and has been featured in Sunset, House Beautiful, C Magazine, and Santa Barbara Magazine, and has appeared on Access Hollywood Live and Hallmark’s Home & Family.

Valerie lives in Santa Barbara with her family.
