YOCHANAN RYWERANT was a practitioner and educator of the Feldenkrais Method for more than five decades and the author of Acquiring the Feldenkrais Profession and The Feldenkrais Method: Teaching by Handling.
Rywerant studied mathematics and physics at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and began studying with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais in 1952, becoming one of his earliest students. He worked closely with Feldenkrais for 15 years, assisting in training programs including the San Francisco and Amherst trainings, and trained teachers independently from 1986 until his death in 2010.
Born in Czernowitz, Rywerant survived forced labor during World War II before emigrating to Israel, where he also worked as a teacher of physics. His two books draw directly on that accumulated experience of practice and teaching.
Yochanan Rywerant’s books are published by Basic Health Publications, an imprint of Turner Publishing.
