About the author
JIM MILES is a Georgia-based historian and teacher who has written eleven books on the Civil War and Southern history, including The Storm Tide, Forged in Fire and A River Unvexed.
Five of Miles’s books were featured by the History Book Club, and he has served as a historical adviser to History Channel documentaries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a Master of Education degree from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus.
When he’s not writing, Miles draws on thirty-one years teaching high school American history. That deep familiarity with American history shapes his work across the Civil War Explorer Series and beyond.
Jim lives in Warner Robins, Georgia.
