CHARLES R. PELLEGRINO is a forensic archaeologist and scientist whose New York Times bestseller Her Name, Titanic sold over a million copies. His recent books include To Hell and Back: The Last Train from Hiroshima, Ghosts of the Titanic and Unearthing Atlantis.
Pellegrino holds a Ph.D. and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Long Island University. He served as technical advisor to director James Cameron on the films Titanic and Avatar, and Her Name, Titanic was among the nonfiction sources for Cameron’s Oscar-winning film Titanic.
When not writing, Pellegrino applies forensic science methods to archaeology, with fieldwork spanning the Titanic, Pompeii and its sister cities, and New York’s Ground Zero. That work informs his books directly.
