About the author
LULU ROMAN was a comedian, singer, actress, and author who appeared as a regular cast member on the television comedy-music show Hee Haw for its entire run from 1969 to 1993. She was the author of Kitchen Komforts and This Is My Story; This Is My Song.
Roman won a Dove Award in 1985 and was inducted into the Country Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1999.
When she was not writing, Roman pursued a career as a Southern gospel singer, recording more than a dozen albums after converting to Christianity. She also made guest appearances on The Love Boat and Touched by an Angel.
Born Bertha Louise Hable on May 6, 1946, in Texas and raised in an orphanage, Roman died on April 23, 2025, in Bellingham, Washington, at age 78.
