About the author
NIKOL LOHR is a knitting author and designer and the creator of The Thrifty Knitter (thriftyknitter.com). Her books include Literary Knits: 30 Patterns Inspired by Favorite Books and Naughty Needles.
Lohr’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Glamour, Playboy, Cosmopolitan, Entertainment Weekly, and the Los Angeles Times. She has contributed patterns to Alt Fiber, Knitty.com, Vampire Knits, and Pop Goes Crochet.
When she’s not writing, Lohr works at The Harveyville Project, a creative retreat housed in former school buildings. Much of her design work draws on the same hands-on, community-oriented spirit the retreat embodies.
Nikol lives in rural Kansas.
