AL LENSKI is a retired United States Air Force Brigadier General and the author of Magic 100: An F-105 Fighter Pilot’s 100 Combat Missions in Vietnam.

Lenski holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Iowa, earned in 1952, and was commissioned through the university’s Air Force ROTC program. He flew F-105s with the 333rd Tactical Fighter Squadron at Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, completing 100 combat missions over North Vietnam. His decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross with two oak leaf clusters and the Air Medal with nine oak leaf clusters.

A command pilot with more than 4,700 flight hours, Lenski was promoted to Brigadier General on March 1, 1980. His book draws directly on his combat experience over North Vietnam.
