From the Hill to the Horizon explores 150 years of MBA from the perspective of students, alumni, teachers, and headmasters. Established in 1867 as part of the University of Nashville from a generous gift from the estate of Montgomery Bell, the all-boys school started in downtown Nashville and moved to its current location in 1915. MBA has continued to grow while focusing on its mission of educating boys and making them into men. This book, celebrating 150 years of MBA, includes photos from MBA’s archives, remembrances from alumni, and photos over the years.

About the author
MONTGOMERY BELL ACADEMY is a private, all-male college-preparatory day school founded in 1867 and serving students in grades 7 through 12 in Nashville, Tennessee. The school is the author of From the Hill to the Horizon: Montgomery Bell Academy 1867–2017, produced to mark its 150th anniversary.
The volume draws on the perspectives of students, alumni, teachers, and headmasters to chronicle the school’s history. The institution takes its name from early Tennessee ironmaster Montgomery Bell, whose estate endowed its establishment as part of the University of Nashville.
